Salou is without
any doubt one of the best known places in
the whole Costa Dorada, it is also known
as "Beach of Europe".
Salou has won that title because all the quality test that have
passed during the years mostly on the quality of its sand and its
sea water.
Due to all those controls every year this city wins many quality
titles making it one of the best sands and sea waters around.

A
prestigious title that shows the work and the respect
shown by the Salou government toward its own citizen
and visitors.
The "Av. Jaume I", where the maritime ramble (Paseo Marítimo)
is amoung the most important features of the Salou summers profile, a
great sea side avenue full with plants, children's parks and palm trees,
parking lots, a huge extension of sand and one of the most impressive
beach around.
The beach here is called "Platja de Llevant", the longest and
by far the most visited beach in Salou.
Few steps away on the other side of the avenue many shops and restaurants
respecting a unique balance between the touristic offer and the environmental
respect such urban must have.
The "Paseo Marítimo" has a little more than a kilometre
of extension, it goes along the "Paseo Jaume I". Always well
kept and has in its center the monument that identifies the city, it
is called "Jaume I", and it is a job done by the sculptor "Samuell" and
the architect "Ripoll" back in 1965.
The "Paseo Marítimo" is a place to enjoy.
The beginning of the maritime port of Salou as we know it has started
back in 1228 when the king Jaume the first decided to gather here all
his naval fleet (ships), and from here to conquer Mallorca.
In the year 1766 the church of Sta. María de Mar was constructed
and after the moll was finally built.
In front of witch was erected the captaincy and the new customhouse on
the street of Barcelona.
On the year 1865 it was open to the public the train station but it was
not until 1887 when finally was open to the public the famous tramway "Carrilet".
Salou and the city of Reus were finally joint together by this tramway.
In 1989 the supreme court gave Salou its total and independent municipality.
Salou offers all the comfort and relaxation within few metres.
Recreation, amusement, gastronomy, diversity of shops, a great panoramic
place with spectaculars sunset.
Salou has sea, tranquility, noise and peace all within few metres apart.
That may be the attraction of this city.

"TARRAGONA" Around
12 Km. distance
The actual city of Tarragona is located not far away from Salou,
there is the national road connecting both cities, also there are
other alternatives small roads from wich is easy to get to Tarragona.
Tarragona was indeed the most important city during the "Roman
Catalonia". For the Romans the so called........+
"CAMBRILS"
Cambrils has always been and always will be a fishing villa. It
is also an important marine villa growing with giants steps. It
has an old part of town with constructions dated from the XVIII
century. Today, (although are finish already), its port is getting
through intense reforming works in order to create a new subterranean
parking place...........+
"LA PINEDA",
Was for many years the obligated stop for all the youngsters all
over the region, due mainly to all the new stand-up bars. This
were specially bars created to maintain people in the fresh of
the summer nights and at the same time being able to talk and see
all that was happening out there..........+
"REUS"
Around some 12 km. from Salou. National road Salou-Reus
It is the city with the "modernism route", and the city
in which one can admire modernist buildings made by some of the
most important architects like"Lluis Domènech i Montaner", "Pere
Caselles i Tarrats" and "Joan Rubió i Bellver".
Most of this architects have done some of their works in Barcelona
