"Vic" |

It was called "Ausona" by the romans. Then it was taken back for the christians that gave it the name of "Vicus Ausona", it is comprehensive then that this city has one of the most interesting old (and modern) part of town.
Just to emphasize the great importance this city had in the past is enough to know that it has no less than 33 religion buildings.
Every saturday ( a great day to visit this fantastic town) and on *the Pl. Major, there is an important flea market set here well worth a visit. And since all streets of town starts or ends in this square one can beggan a visit right here. In the square itself is the "Town Hall" a gothic building dated from XIV century.
The oldest building here though is the roman temple of "Ausa" (II century), it was discovered when the "Castillo de los Montcada´s" demolition works that took place here.

The most important place (turisticly speaking) is the "St. Pere cathedral" (XVIII century), of neoclasic style.
The importance of this particular place is the fact that as well as in many others religion buildings in wich they constructed over a founded ruins, here one can still see the remaindings of the old christian "cript" as well as the "bell tower".
The cript is dated from the X century.
Also kept is a very state of conservation are all the city walls; ramblas del Carmen, del Passeig, de St. Domenech, de Sta. Teresa, de Montcada, del Hospital, and the Bisbat.
