Granollers is the Valles Oriental´s capital. Its origins are date from the roman era but it is not untill medieval time that a slow but steady development process of the city began.
Specially its center.
Due to that development time we can see buildidngs like the ones on the "Pl. Porxada", as well as expansion and conservation works on the old city walls.
In the 1848 it is oficially open the train route Barcelona-Vic having a stop here, that gave another push to the development of the whole region.
Few kilometres from here are the well known "Caldes de Montbui" (Roman hot springs) form the I and II century but still functioning today with watters that raises up to 70C.
