** The Fundació Antoni Tàpies remain closed to the public during the first half of 2008 to carry out a reform in the building. **
This building was designed by the modernist architect Domènech i Montaner, built between the years 1881 and 1885. It was for many years the headquarters of the i Montaner Publisher Simon.
Today is the headquarters of the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, founded in 1984 by the artist himself, was created to promote the study of modern and contemporary art.

It houses an extensive collection of works by the famous painter and Teresa donated by Antoni Tapies.
These facilities are also used for temporary exhibitions of national and international artists.
It has an impressive library specializing in modern and contemporary art. It also has a largest number of Tàpies's work, as well as collections of pre-Columbian art, Asian, African and oceanic, and on architecture, photography, films.
