Barcelona´s modernism

It was after the work done by the architect Antonio Gaudí for Eusebio Güell on its property of "Finques Güell" located at "Els Corts" in Barcelona, that the banker decided to give to Gaudi also the construction of his house at the exclusive --by the time--, location of Ramblas.
This building is not just an important modernism building it is also an historical one.


Due to the importance of the Güell family during that time one could see most important personalities passing by, among them the queen Maria Cristina of Hamburg or the by the time king of Italy Humberto the I among few of them.

This is a unique and impresive place, and it is among the most impresive buildings one must visit while in Barcelona.

Today it is the "Teatre Institut library".
Constructed from 18886 to 1888.

Mondays to saturdays: 10:15 to 18:15 when takes place the last visiting group.
