Barcelona´s modernism

This is one of the first Antonio Gaudí's works. It is probably that Gaudí was designing Casa Vicens since 1878 thanks to some of the young architect´s drawings from those times.



The construction works didnt begin until 1883 when he was in charge of the project.


Seems like Gaudí took the inspiration needed from the house's own interior garden for many of the works done including the outside main entrance door that has palmito tree leeves decoration.

He also decorated the main dinning room's ceiling with cherry fruits.

*TIP:
This place can not be visited from inside, can only be seen from the outside, and if you want to take good pictures it must be close to midday due to the tall buildings in the surroundings.
